IMATS London 2014

So this weekend i spent the weekend in London for IMATS for my lovely friend Toni. IMATS is the international makeup artist trade show where makeup artists from all over the world get together to swap skills, build their kits and meet other makeup artists and gain inspiration. We spent the Saturday trailing round London doing a spot of shopping and sight seeing, preparing for an early start on Sunday to avoid the hectic queue for entry to IMATS. This was my first time at IMATS and when i arrived in London on the Saturday i secretly wished i could skip right to Sunday to attend the show.

I had heard through the grapevine that NYX almost straight away gets a huge queue and products sell out really fast, so i headed there first. It was lovely when we got to NYX, there are myself and Toni and one other girl there so we really got to swatch everything and have a good look around. However nothing really caught my eye and i only picked up on thing, a blush in taupe as i wanted to try it for contouring. I overheard the queue for NYX was two hours at one point so i was really glad we went there first.

I picked up a bunch of goodies at the show so expect alot of reviews on this blog very soon. I was in awe at all the makeup and brushes at the show alongside the amazing work of the makeup artists; i walked round the majority of the day shocked at how makeup can completely transform a person into anything they want to be. It truly is an art. During one of the shows for the day I got to watch Paul Merchant and Gemma Horner, key makeup artists who work for Kryolan, demonstrate upcoming makeup trends for winter 2014-spring 2015.

I loved the experience of IMATS and i will defiantly be making IMATS a must attend event each year. I gained so much inspiration from this event from makeup artists, new makeup releases and even other attendees to the event. Brand wise, i bought a real mixture. NARS had several sets on offer for £15 at the show, i picked up two different ones, a face trio and a smoky eye set. As you can see i picked up several items at IMATS so expect product reviews and swatches soon.
